Brain capacity is small
Hello, this is Manager Ten. Today I will introduce how I use my work notebook.
Before that, let me introduce myself a little.
I am in my 6th year of work and my 3rd company. Currently, I am launching an e-commerce business at Imabari Towel Manufacturer. (This means I've been working longer than my long elementary school days...)
As I worked, I realized that only a small portion of tasks can be managed using a to-do list.
Most work involves multiple people, departments, and sometimes outside the company, so there are a lot of things that need to be handled flexibly.
It wasn't until recently that I realized that I was taking up a lot of my brain's capacity by thinking about things that I needed to be concerned about, things that were low priority but had to be done somewhere, things that I didn't know about and wanted to check on later. .
I realized that my brain's capacity is very small, so I use my work notebook to fill in the missing capacity.
If you write down everything in your work notebook other than ``thinking'', you don't have to remember it with your brain! I can now concentrate on my thoughts.
Today I would like to introduce you to my work notes.
Work notes from my 6th year as a working adult
What is special about work notes?
- Size that fits in your bag (mostly A5/B5)
- graph paper
2 points. I buy and use new notebooks that meet these requirements depending on my mood.
I use notebooks so that I can see a week's worth of content on a single page spread.
writing notes
- idea
- memo
- Tasks with deadlines (todo)
Fill in the following three items.
Just write it in this notebook and forget about it. I am now able to focus on thinking about whether just thinking like that will alleviate some of my worries and concerns.
By the way, the ones that list one week's worth of tasks are Muji's sticky notes. I bought it at a store about two years ago, but I don't know if it's currently on sale. (It wasn't sold online)
I like calendar sticky notes because they make it convenient to manage schedules in any notebook.
Notes from 3rd year working adult
When I was in my third year of work, it was already the same as it is now.
- idea
- memo
- Tasks with deadlines (todo)
I was writing it down in my notebook. However, half of the page was devoted to the to-do area, so there wasn't enough space to write ideas and notes.
Notes from the first year of work
The notes for the first year are mainly
- Tasks with deadlines (todo)
I drew a frame line for each date and managed it within that frame. It says it's an idea/memo area, but it's basically just for notes. I still had a lot to learn about the business, so I still have a lot of scribbled notes.
lastly
I often hear about sales notebooks that are filled with customer and market information, but I don't often hear about notebooks that help expand the capacity of your brain, so I decided to write this article about them.
I'm glad if you can use it as a reference.
