Hello, this is Ten, the manager.
This time I will introduce my work area during my second month of working from home.
About work
On weekends, I run an online shop called Tenno Shigoto Doguten as a hobby, and on weekdays, I set up and operate an online shop for an Imabari towel manufacturer.
Originally, I was working remotely three days a week, but since the state of emergency was declared in April, I have been working completely from home.
My husband is an engineer at an IT company in Tokyo. I have also been working completely remotely since April. At first, I worked from the living room, but after about a week I started to get frustrated because I couldn't concentrate and my lower back started hurting.
Maybe there will be a stipend? So I took the plunge and bought office furniture, which has improved my environment considerably, so I would like to introduce it to you.
Destroy the bedroom and turn it into a work room
The floor plan was 1LDK with a separate loft with a low ceiling height of about 6 tatami mats. The loft was used as a storage room, so we moved the bedroom into the loft and turned the former bedroom into a work room.
I'm starting to feel a bit depressed about whether I'll be able to continue sleeping in the loft during the summer. But I couldn't make any changes to optimize the work environment...
my remote environment
Desk: Atelier table
This is an atelier table that I bought on Rakuten a long time ago. I think it was around ¥20,000. My favorite points are that the height can be adjusted in 4 levels and the sides are wide.
Chair: Okamura Sabrina series
Used one costs about 50,000 yen. The regular price is about 100,000 yen for office furniture. (too high···)
I bought this because I liked the sliding seat, the mesh back that doesn't get stuffy, the white frame, and the cool green design.
Before I bought this, I had a high chance of getting back pain while working, and my butt hurt so much that I couldn't sit for long periods of time and couldn't concentrate on work. The improvements have made my work so much easier!
Husband's remote environment
Desk: Okamura Swift electric lift desk
A used one costs about ¥50,000. The regular price is about 200,000. It was about 1.5 times bigger than I expected. I think it's a great deal for just over 50,000 including assembly.
The height can be changed electrically from 65cm to 125cm. It's great that you can use it while standing if you get tired of sitting.
My husband tweets at least once every three days, ``I couldn't do remote without this! I'm really glad I bought it.''
Herr Chair: Herman Miller Aeron Chair
About 100,000? My company gave me the OK to take it home, so I packed it into a taxi and took it home. A great product that won't cause back pain even if you sit for more than 10 hours a day.
The seat is also made of mesh, so it is cool and comfortable in the summer.
Finally
Most of the money I received was used to improve my work environment, but I have no regrets as it has become very comfortable. Please take a look at the detailed introduction on YouTube.
